Hi, I’m Heideli. Good to see you here!
Thinking about homeschooling?
I’m a homeschooling mama of two, a girl and a boy, a Great Dane and two mini tortoises, and a wife to a lovely husband. I live in the Western Cape, South Africa, a place where the homeschool community is thriving, growing and active.
I started this blog about homeschooling because I wanted to learn more about it while teaching my own kids along the way. I don’t know it all, and I don’t have it all together, so don’t compare yourself!
You need to know this:
No matter how many planners, printables and other helpful info you find on this blog, I don’t have it all together. Not at all. My homeschooling days are not full of Pinterest-worthy crafts all the time. I work full-time to support m,y family as my husband is no longer able to work due to heart failure. I do content marketing and writing for clients, write this blog, and supply educational toys to schools, creches, therapists and families.
I enjoy it all, but I won’t lie. It can also be overwhelming. Some days my routine looks great and my planners are ticked. Other days, I wear pyjamas all day, forget half a dozen things and just have cereal for dinner, just like you!
See how I get my laundry done?
Many days, working, homeschooling and parenting is about survival, just like your days!
So feel free to hang out, knowing you’re not alone. You’ll find plenty of support, encouragement and helpful resources to help ease the overwhelm, especially if you’re new to homeschooling.
Whether you are new to homeschooling or doing it already, this is a blog that can help you figure it all out.
When I’m not writing or busy with the kids, I usually have my fingers in the garden or am out walking, shopping and spending time with my husband. Or I’m rewrapping my hair in another scarf because I like the way it looks 🙂
